How NOT to share your faith
BBC NEWS | Americas | Christian question alarms flight
In the story above, I admire the pilot's zeal to share his faith. However, he did so in a way which was not sensitive to the context or the people he was witnessing to. When we share the wonderful, life-changing news about Jesus Christ we must always do so in a way that lets people know that we are caring and considerate and that we mean them no harm.
The context of a pilot talking to the people at his mercy in an airplane is probably not the right time or place. Our society highly values the notion of personal freedom and as Christians in the workplace we must ensure we have the rapport and relationship with an individual before we can effectively share Christ. Non-believers will judge our lifestyle before they'll listen to our words.
